For the character we decided to give each new character a different art style. the characters we chose were.
The Indian (the owner of the enchanted horse at the beginning)
The Sultan and his son the prince.
The foreign princess (which the prince marries)
The Indian.
For the Indian I was looking through a lot of my graffiti books, and looked out for artist that were quirky and interesting for the eye with a fairly exotic feel to it. The art a style that i eventually fell upon for the Indian was by an artist called Amos.
Amos shows a fairly hidden and mysterious style and his characters are fascinating and eye catching. which is exactly how the Indian is towards the Sultan and his kins men.
You can also use a lot of collage effects with his clothes in this art style and with the use of prints which Red for Dead have displayed for us.
The Sultan and his son, the Prince
For these two characters and their court I fell upon the artist that had influenced me a lot when I was younger, a lot like Amos did. The artist that had influenced me here is the artist called Erone. Both fairly similar styles but fairly different in other bits. These shapes and forms are a lot softer and to me seem a lot more pampered which is a good twist from the rough jagged style of Amos. and again the use of collage could be worked well with designs like these.
The foreign Princess.
For the foreign princess I came up with the idea of using the art style of a graffiti movement called miss van. which is a group of female graffiti artist. The art style is different and exciting but has a hint of a relationship with the other 2 artists. But again has its own flavour. which is what I aimed for in the art style. for the princess is from over seas and has the same feel as the other country but also has her own style. so I think the two could blend well together yet cause a scene with the quirky edge for this film.
I also noticed that in one of red or reads photo shoots they did a style very similar too miss van
So heres miss van!
I also want to link in if possible the artist Pal who is also a graffiti artist, I think this style will mix in well with the Arabic feel we are setting off in street art formation.
