DEEP - introduction to the new project

So,

It seems to be the summer holidays, its insane as to how quickly the second year has flown by! but im glad its all over and I can actually sleep.

oh wait

I lied, I have a new project :)

Ok so this new project was created by my two course leaders (Kathy and Derek) who decided to create a short film.

Derek came up with the idea of creating a chase scene within a film. I know a little confusing but let me explain:

On the old films that we used to film with you would occasionally come across dirt, scratches and lines on the film. Derek, as the director decided to go within those scratches and dirt marks.

So we have our main characters, a girl and a boy, who are being chased by 3 gangsters/thugs and they fall between each scratch of film into a new form of animation, for instance the scene could start with live action and they fall into a Disney featured animation and it carries on.

My scene is the 6th scene. The wild west in the style of 1900's cartoons a lot like the old mikey mouse cartoons. black and white styles with exagereated characters and unusual happenings. mixed in with a bit of beano style art. which in itself seems pretty awsome.

Heres the script for my scene.

EXT. BEANOTOWN VERSION OF THE WILD WEST-DAY  6
(2D Silent cartoon style)
In the dusty street a young man (PERSEUS) with a ‘Victoria’
sports bag is running away. Close behind him, and getting
closer, are three tough looking thugs carrying clubs. As
they race by they pass a young WPC, CAROLINE, who is having
a morning cup of tea by a tea stall. They almost make her
drop her cup but she deftly catches it in a single
lightning movement.
CAROLINE (IN SPEECH BALLOON)
Aye-up, what the ‘ell’s goin’ on?
She spins the cup and saucer neatly into place on the tea
stall as she heads off in pursuit.
Round the corner she skids to a stop as she sees the young
man calmly zipping up the bag and the thugs nowhere to be
seen (though the statues in the square look vaguely
familiar)
He smiles at her and, before she can ask him anything, he
is on his way. Her gaze follows him.
A tumbleweed blows into shot and gets stuck at the bottom
of frame like dirt in the projector gate. Camera closes in
on it to reveal it as a wire construction that jiggles
about then momentarily resolves into a hideous face with
wriggling hair.

Characters

Here are the two main characters in which we are going to be working with/from

and here are the 3 mobsters/gang members

I have also posted some videos of the art style below to help you all and myself understand the style that is needed
