Carl research for body movement

For the movement of Carl i looked at other animators work and how they move the human body with a specific characteristic.
Here are a few links to some animation tests from animators in the 2D industry

The reason why i looked at these in particular is because i was fascinated with the use of squash and stretch, which i think could be linked in with the body of Carl.
Before we finalised the character of Carl we looked at how each character would look if they were an animal. We mostly came up with the likes of a timid mouse, mole and other small delicate creatures but in my research i came across some test animations for the goose out of aristocrats, and the movement and waddling that this character had influenced me a lot in thinking that Carl could be slightly clumsy and whimsical.

So yer I hope my chosen videos help explain what i mean more than how i describe it =]
