test 2.5 - IA
Here is the final outcome to the test shot. Im still unsure about the end but i might go back to it later and re work it.
But i am happy with the choice of colours and brush textures and size.
I shall be working on another test shot and experiment with it a bit more.
test 2 - IA
In this faze I worked a bit on the colours of one of the trails and started to work on the end shots trail which was influenced by the fire bird taken from fantasia 2000.
test 1.5 - IA
Here is the second faze to the test shot. In this section i added the improvised outlines of the trails.
test_1 I.A
For this test shot, I wanted to test out how the body might be animated and how the trails would be animated.
The first thing i did was to import the Motion Capture footage into Toonboom and roughly outline the movement of the figure.
I also experimented with the texture of the background which a variety of textured brushes and colours . This was to try and get a water colour paper texture.

play blast and effects from infinitus artificium dancers
Here is a video using motion capture of our choreographer Katie who had to step in for us when the dancers were unable to make it in. With this we decided to just play around with the footage and see what we could do with it. So here it is enjoy.

Rehearsal Footage for Infinitus Artificium (joy)
Here's the footage of the joy section with scratch track and dance sequence.
It is looking so good already! I shall be using this section to draw out a quick example for the 2D section and when we do the motion capture on Thursday I will be asking them to do this so we can try it out in 3D as well ready for the pitch

Stills of the dancers
Her are some stills of what the dancers are working on at the moment.
I was first sent these shots
Which concentrate a lot on the lifts. Already this looks exciting and looks visually exciting. However i looked at one still which is the last still were the female dancer is bent over his shoulder. I found the angle to be a bit odd looking and not very elegant. I sent an email to Katie who is the choreographer for this project and asked if she could do the lift again but from the side, so you could see the two bodies and how the female dancer has curved herself to fit around the male dancers. This is the photo they sent back.
This photo instantly looks better from this angle as you can see the lovely curves and line work of the female body and how strong and steady the male is positioned.
This has made me take into account as to what angles would instantly look more appealing to the viewer and what would help define the figures. So when filimg for the reference and the animatic i will be finding a cinamotographer for the filming so they can help define the perfect angles for this peice and what is the best point of view for the movement of the dancers.

Infinitus Artificium - Dance practise
After discussing with Katie about what i wanted from the dance routine Katie set up a rehersal were two out of the four dancers would work out some moves and test some movement out ready for the actual piece. I also sent them the music which im influenced with and what Nicky (the composer) is going to work from. Which are the Escala videos.
They put the music to this short sequence to see how it worked but found that the moves were possibly a bit slow for the music itself as the music is very strong and fast paced. But thats what these sessions are for =]
Generally they have told me that they are really excited to work in collaboration with me and have already had plenty to talk about regarding the dance sequence.
Which makes me excited!
The dancers meet up Most days and often have the same lectures inwhich they can work well together and help throw ideas at each other.
I will be updating more videos as the days go by with their work.
On a side note but slightly related, i have a pitch tomorrow infront of my course and basically pitch my idea to them in hope that they will be kean on working with me.
If people are keen i will either send them this video (which they can choose a move or a couple of seconds from) or make a cut from it only a couple of seconds long inwhich i will ask them to animate. they can do it in what ever style they want and how ever they want it. then if they send it back to me i can see which ones id like to work with =]
Hopefully it will all work out.
